3. Jan 04, 2009  I too have a Sears Model 53, 30-06 and can find no information to match serial number to manufacture date. The Serial number is U144031, and I have found no data bases with Serial numbers beginning with U. I understand it is a Winchester Mod 70, but can not pin down manufacture date.

5. Mar 05, 2010  It's a Sears Model 53 chambered in 30-06 new never fired. The Father in law had a 6X Weaver mounted when purchased and doesn't remember when he bought it, best guess is pre 1975. Serial number 273320XX. Any information about the rifle would be greatly appreciated.
6. My sears mod. Winchester 94) does not have the cross-bolt safety nor the rebounding hammer. The beral is blued but the recever is a aluminum like color. The mag tube is only about 1/2 inch shorter than the beral.

Mar 06, 2012  I think this is a Winchester 190 with the Sears 3T model no. Can anybody tell me for certain what I have? The gun has had a lot of abuse; but looking in the barrel with a bore light, the groves look excellent.

Ruger does not necessarily produce firearms in serial number order. There are occasions when blocks of serial numbers have been manufactured out of sequence, sometimes years later.
